T.B.A.

Well, I had planned to make a new post loaded with pictures of my cute kids (if you're sick of seeing pictures of my cute kids, then you're definitely on the wrong blog!), but the internet is being super sloooooooow right now. Maybe everyone else in Alabama is online at 11:45 at night. So, it will have to wait. Just know that there is lots of cuteness to come. Brace yourselves!

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MADELYN!!!

Five Best Things To Say If Caught Sleeping At Your Desk

NUMBER 5: 'They told me at the Blood Bank this might happen.'

NUMBER 4 : 'This is just a 15 minute power nap they raved about in the time-management course you had me attend.'

NUMBER 3 : 'Whew! Guess I left the top off the White-out. You probably got here just in time!'

NUMBER 2: 'Did you ever notice sounds coming out of these keyboards when you put your ear down real close?'

And the NUMBER ONE best thing to say if you get caught sleeping at your desk: (Raising your head slowly) 'In Jesus name, Amen'

Lola-Sitting and a Random Sampler

Here's Lola. She's my "dog-in-law" and lives with Barry's Mom. This is her sunbathing in my backyard. That dirt patch she's laying in is there because of the bunnies that have taken up residence in our yard. The baby bunnies love to play in that dirt. It's quite fun to watch!

I never used to be much of a Chihuahua fan until I met Lola. By the way, I get to "Lola-sit" this weekend while my in-laws are out of town. She will definitely not lack attention while they are gone!

It's difficult not to fall in love with this little girl. She's so sweet and cuddly.

She and Alton are pals. Evelyn goes nuts with excitement whenever Lola comes over, too, but I don't have any pictures of them together. I think Lola is one of the most well-loved dogs on the planet!

Evelyn got herself into quite a little predicament and she was NOT happy about it! Doesn't look too comfy, eh?

Yes, I have read Twilight. In fact, I've read the whole series. And I think I finished them in record time, considering that I have two kids and a husband. It meant that nothing was done around my house for about a week. Alton managed to squeeze in a hug before bed that night. He should consider himself lucky. Those books are ridiculously addicting! And yes, I have pre-ordered Breaking Dawn, in case any of you are interested. It is only $10.94 (plus $1.97 for shipping) at walmart.com.

I stayed up very late for many nights while marathoning (I know that's not a word) through said books. That meant that Barry was in bed long before I was. One night I came in the room to find him like this, all cozy and wrapped up. I especially love that his ankles are crossed. That's my sweet, adorable mummy!

This kid can't resist a box.

Evy is sporting her "I Love Daddy" onesie for Father's Day. And Barry is wearing his "World's Greatest Dad" t-shirt, compliments of Alton. They make a darn cute pair, if you ask me!

Um, yeah. I can't play piano without one of the kids crying to get in my lap. They love playing it, too! Surprisingly enough, they are both usually quite gentle on the keys so I really don't mind. Alton loves music, but not like Evelyn. She really goes nuts over it. She almost always starts dancing if she hears any kind of noise that sounds remotely musical.

Barry had to grill his own dinner for Father's Day. What kind of wife am I? =)

Can I just say that I absolutely love this picture?! That's a big, fat, juicy strawberry. It's one of only a handful of healthy foods that Alton will actually put into his body.

I told Alton to make a scary face and this is what he did. Um...not so scary, but it is cute.

Now, that's scary! This is what happens when you give a 2-year-old a cup of chocolate pudding and leave the room for more than 30 seonds. It was smeared all over him (his shirt, shorts, arms, legs, you name it) as well as his chair, the table, and even the floor. I don't know how he does it. He certainly enjoys his food! A little too much, sometimes.

This kid loves to put his toys in a neat little line, as seen above. He does it with everything.

Evelyn was giggling like crazy, having so much fun watching this little baby (Well, I use the term "little" quite loosely--she weighs as much as Evelyn and is only a few months old. She sure is cute and so happy!)!

Evelyn is obsessed with buckles and straps, so she enjoys playing with the car seat.

Alton was very proud of the "tall, tall tower" that he built recently.

My baby is getting so big! She's crawling like crazy and pulling up on everything. I walked in to get her from her nap today and she was standing up in the pack-n-play. I had to laugh. She looked so cute, all I could see when I came in the room were her little fingers and her face. Kids sure do grow fast!

Tough Break

Update: Alright, peeps, I think some of you have the wrong idea. I don't live for exercise. Believe me! I have to force myself to do it every time. And if Sara didn't come to my house at 7:30 am two days a week to run then I might not exercise at all. Because I'm lazy. And because I'd much rather read a book and eat chocolate cake. But, I do always, always, always (did I say that already?) feel so much better after I have done the exercise.

It's always so tricky to exercise for the first time in a couple of weeks. With all the sickness in my house the last little while, exercise hasn't happened. This morning I finally got to go for a walk/run. Just a 2-mile stint. It was difficult because I felt like my body was full of lead, but it felt great at the same time. Exercise is almost magical to me. I can be feeling depressed or angry or frustrated. I can have zero desire to do it other than the fact that I know I need to. When I exercise, all that goes away. It renews me. It refreshes me. It clears away the bad emotions. Exercise is like free therapy. Go get some today!

BIG NEWS!!!

ALTON PEED IN THE POTTY FOR THE FIRST TIME TODAY!!!! WOOHOO!!!!!

Okay, so that may not be big news to some of you. But, if any of you have or are currently potty training a child, then you understand. I haven't been full-time potty training. We never had a potty party or anything of the sort. Truth be told, I've been avoiding it at all costs. I've been a weenie, I admit it. It sounded hard and I didn't want to deal with it. Lately, though, Alton's been taking his diaper off (because I think it is uncomfortable to him now) and he's been asking more frequently to sit on the potty. How can I turn him down?

Tonight he had been sitting on the potty for a little while. Before I put a diaper on him he got in trouble for something and had to sit in time out. Well, I didn't realize he was sitting on his potty (instead of his stool) during time out. When I told him to come out he proudly announced that he had peed in the potty. I, naturally, didn't believe him because he's said that many times before. Lo and behold, he was actually telling the truth this time!

I realize that this doesn't mean he is trained yet. But, it is an excellent beginning! Thanks for tuning in for our proud news!

Peace out.

Howzit?!

Haven't felt much like posting lately. Although, I have enjoyed reading all of your blogs (even if I don't leave a comment)! Not too much has been going on around here. Last weekend Barry, the kids, and I took our first little family vacation. I'll post about that later, with pictures. Currently I have two sick kiddies. Alton spend all day Sunday throwing up. And Evelyn was sick yesterday. Alton was feeling much better yesterday and seems to be doing okay today. Although, he has been complaining that his tummy hurts. Hopefully Barry and I won't get this junk!
